Champions League: Round of 16 between Red Bull München and EV Zug
The starting position cannot be glossed over. After the 1:5 in the first leg, our guys have their backs to the wall. Specifically, Don Jackson's team needs to win by a four-goal difference to make it to overtime. Complicating matters is the absence of Trevor Parkes, who with 18 goals is the most prolific scorer in Munich's CHL history.
"Making the impossible possible"
A difficult but certainly not impossible task. "We will not give up," announced Filip Varejcka already immediately after the painful defeat last week. Before the second leg, the Red Bulls have once again boosted their self-confidence through the successes in Bremerhaven and against Augsburg.
"It will be extremely tough, no question," said Justin Schütz, "but if they win with a four-goal lead in Munich, why shouldn't we manage that in Zug as well?" Our captain Patrick Hager already has an idea of how the turnaround should succeed: "There is no time for experiments. We have to focus on the match plan and play our game consistently over 60 minutes. That's the only way we'll give ourselves the chance to make the impossible possible."

Leksand showed how it's done
Only one team has managed such a comeback in the eight-year history of the European top flight: Leksands IF (Sweden) overcame a 4-0 deficit from the first leg in last season's round of 16 against EC KAC (Austria) to advance to the quarterfinals with an 8-1 victory.
Some 2,000 kilometers southwest of Leksand, our boys will give it their all Wednesday night to make history again with the Miracle of Zug.
