With tailwind into next home game: Red Bulls challenged against Bremerhaven

With tailwind into next home game: Red Bulls challenged against Bremerhaven// DEL - PREVIEW On Friday evening (19:30 | LIVE in our blog) our fans can look forward to a special duel.
Red Bull München, the team with the longest current winning streak (eleven victories), will face the Pinguins Bremerhaven at the Olympia Eisstadion. The northern Germans travel to the Isar with the longest current negative streak (six defeats) in their luggage.
Close duels
Top scorer Austin Ortega is optimistic: "If we perform like we have in recent games, it could go completely differently than in the first two duels against Bremerhaven." Those ended narrowly in each case. In October, the Red Bulls lost 0:1, a month later it was 2:1 from our point of view.

Ortega in impressive form
Munich and Ortega - they go together. The U.S. American has been thrilling Red Bulls fans since his arrival in the summer of 2021. No other player has been involved in as many goals for our team in the DEL since then as the creative forward: he contributed 86 points in 91 main round and playoff games.
In Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Kölner Haie, the 28-year-old Ortega was once again one of the match-winners with two goals and an assist. Our team is brimming with confidence - unlike the upcoming opponent.

Bremerhaven dream start, but then...
The Penguins Bremerhaven have stumbled in recent weeks - although the season had started so promisingly: The team of coach Thomas Popiesch played great and even replaced Munich on the 15th matchday after the 1-0 victory in the direct duel from the top of the table.
But after that, things went in the other direction - partly because captain Jan Urbas was injured. The 3:4 in Augsburg on Wednesday was the sixth defeat in a row and the twelfth loss from the past 14 games. Bremerhaven is currently in seventh place in the standings.
Slovenian formation blown up, Friesen jumps in
Ortega, however, is not blinded by the opponent's drought: "They performed pretty well defensively against us in both games. And they have a couple of guys we have to watch out for a lot." With the Slovenian forward line blown out by the loss of Urbas and Miha Verlic and Ziga Jeglic not scoring as much as usual without the Penguins star, Alex Friesen has emerged as the team's internal top scorer (22 points in 29 games). In Augsburg, he was involved in all three Penguins goals.
