Gameplay
Bremerhaven got off to the slightly better start and came up with good opportunities, but Allavena was initially no passing. Also Penguins goalkeeper Maximilian Franzreb had to prove his ability a few times. Despite good chances on both sides, the first third ended goalless.
In the middle section it took only 59 seconds before Street brought the team of Don Jackson with a precise shot in the lead. Bremerhaven pressed afterwards on the speed and erspielte themselves many Topchancen, among them two goals to the linkage of Vladimir Eminger (22.) and Alex Friesen (26.). Even in double overtime, the Penguins could not beat Allavena. The keeper had no chance until Niklas Andersen scored on his own - 1:1 (34.). Munich found in the connection the correct answer and went owing to the goal of McKiernan with a 2:1 guidance into the second third break (39.).
High speed also in the final section. Bremerhaven tried everything again, but the Red Bulls defended consistently. Only rarely did the Penguins come so dangerously before the Munich box, as Antti Tyrväinen in the 54th minute. However, Allavena stood in the way of the equalizer. Thus, the Red Bulls saved the narrow 2:1 lead over time.
