Top game on the 1st Advent: Red Bulls visit Adler Mannheim
Saturday, 30. November 2024 | DEL: EHC Red Bull München visits Adler Mannheim - Preview
Top game on the 1st Advent: Red Bulls visit Adler Mannheim// DEL - PREVIEWAfter three home games in a row, EHC Red Bull München will kick off the final month of the 2024 calendar year on Sunday at 7:15 p.m. away at Adler Mannheim (live on on free TV on DF1, MagentaSport, Sportdeutschland.TV & on our blog).
And with a total of eleven games, this one will be really intense again. In their last appearance in November, they unfortunately lost 3:4 after overtime against the Nuremberg Ice Tigers. Although the Red Bulls had almost twice as many shots on goal as their Bavarian opponents, they missed too many opportunities, especially in the final third.

"We had an incredible number of chances, some of which we created superbly," said coach Max Kaltenhauser. "Our performance was good, but of course we're not satisfied with the one point at home," said the 43-year-old with annoyance. With three wins and ten points from the last four games, our team is still doing well at the moment.
Late exchange of blows in the first encounter
We have also already beaten Adler Mannheim this season. On October 29, Munich took all three points in a thrilling 5:4 victory at the SAP Garden. The team from the Palatinate quickly made up a two-goal deficit in the final period before our team pulled away again with three goals, thanks in part to a brace from Maxi Kastner. Mannheim came back again, but the Red Bulls managed to hold on for the win.

Eagles bulwark in their own living room
Coach Dallas Eakins' team has won five of its last eight games. On Friday evening, however, Mannheim lost the derby at Schwenninger Wild Wings 2:6.
At home, however, the Adler defense has been extremely stable of late, conceding just five goals in four games in November. Felix Brückmann even recorded a shutout in the narrow 1:0 win against the Pinguins Bremerhaven.
A deep attack
Strikingly, no Mannheim player is currently among the top scorers in the league. The Kurpfälzer rely on four balanced lines, all of which can make an offensive appearance. As many as 13 professionals have already scored in double figures. Defender Leon Gawanke (14 assists) is responsible for the attacking play. And in offense, top performers such as Matthias Plachta, Marc Michaelis, Kris Bennett, Tom Kühnhackl and Luke Esposito should provide the necessary goals.
By the way: The visiting team has now been waiting for an away win for eleven games between Mannheim and Munich. We definitely want to end this streak on Sunday.
