... on the start to the new year: "So far in 2024, we have a clean slate. I think we've also improved our play in the last few games. So we're very happy with the start to the new year."
... on the season so far: "When there are several changes in the team, certain things have to grow first. We've had ups and downs so far. But you also have to say that the league is very tight this year. Anyone can beat anyone. You can also see that in the table: Berlin and Bremerhaven have pulled away a bit, but there's a very tight field behind them. We weren't satisfied with our start. But in the end, it's not the team that gets off to the best start that comes out on top, but the one that develops best."

... on the coaching team: "We struggled to score goals for a while. If you only score one or two goals, it's hard to win. But the coaching team is working incredibly hard and very meticulously to develop that. Overall, you can tell that we're on the right track now."
... on his influence on the team: "First and foremost, the coaching team is responsible for working with the team. I always give my feedback and say what I see, hear and feel. We have a good exchange and are all on the same wavelength. That is very important. An organization works best when the manager manages, the coach trains and the players play."
... on the goals this season: "We always have the highest goals. At the moment, however, we really have to think from game to game in order to finish as high as possible. Anyone who says that's just an empty phrase has probably never worked in sport. The next game is always the most important one for us. We'll try to get into a run and if we can do that, we'll really attack again up front."
... on the anticipation of the SAP Garden: "It's really taken off now. I've been here for 20 years. Our current stadium is incredibly charming and it's full of nostalgia. There will be a tear or two when we have fought our last battle here. But there is an incredible anticipation for the new temple. For the fans and for all of us. When you see the current progress, it always gives you goosebumps."
