EHC Red Bull München: Dominik Kahun injured for several weeks
The 31-year-old forward is sidelined with a lower-body injury and will not be available to Coach Oliver David’s team until after the international break surrounding the Deutschland Cup (November 5–8). This means he won’t be able to return until the away game against the Augsburger Panthern on November 13 at the earliest.
Kahun is the Red Bulls’ leading scorer
Kahun has already missed the past two PENNY DEL games against Berlin and Nuremberg and will therefore also miss at least the next four DEL games. In addition, the German national team forward will not be available for the Deutschland Cup in Düsseldorf. With five goals in his first eight games of the season, the former NHL pro is currently the Red Bulls’ leading scorer.
The forward transferred to Munich from the top Swiss club Lausanne HC before the start of the current season. Between 2014 and 2018, Kahun played 206 DEL games for the Red Bulls, recording 149 points (48 goals | 101 assists). During that time, the left-handed shooter won three German championships with Munich before moving to the NHL in 2018. Kahun played just under 200 games in the world’s top hockey league. He then continued his career in the Swiss National League, where he played first for SC Bern and later for Lausanne HC.
Krening’s comeback draws nearer—DeSousa also remains sidelined
In addition to Kahun, the Red Bulls are still without forwards Philipp Krening (lower body) and Chris DeSousa (upper body) due to injury. Krening is also expected to return after the Deutschland Cup break.
