EHC Red Bull München: Entire Team Back in Munich
While some of the Red Bulls began summer training at SAP Garden a few weeks ago, the remaining players have been arriving back in Munich over the past few days.
Our new defenseman Trevor Carrick was the first to arrive; he traveled to Munich with his family last Monday and took part in the BBQ event with the fans on Tuesday. He was followed by Elis Hede, Lukas Klok, Antoine Bibeau, and Ville Pokka. Yesterday, Sunday, Taro Hirose, Ryan Murphy, and Jeremy McKenna set off for Germany.
McKenna and Murphy Arrive Full of Optimism
After arriving at the airport, McKenna is optimistic about the new season: “The summer was great; time just flew by. I have high expectations for the new season. Our new signings are a really good addition to the team—so we want to go all out right from the start.”

Murphy is also happy to be back in Munich: “As always, the summer consisted of training, hockey, and golf. And of being a dad. With two kids, it was a little different this year, but my wife and I managed it well. Now I’m looking forward to being back here. For many of us, this is an important year—we want to win the title. That’s what we’ve been focused on all summer. We stayed in constant contact and tried to carry that momentum into the new season. I think everyone is really fired up.”
With the arrival of Chris DeSousa (and his son Banks), the team is back in Munich in full force and ready for the challenges ahead.
Season opener, exhibition games, “Red Bulls Salute,” and more in August
After completing their individual summer training programs, the Red Bulls are now turning their attention to joint preseason training.
The team’s first public appearance is already scheduled for August 9: At the season opener at SAP Garden, you can look forward to a showcase practice, the official team presentation, and an autograph session, among other things.
With the match against the Black Wings Linz (August 16 | 4:00 p.m.), as well as the international invitational tournament Red Bulls Salute in Zell am See (August 21–22) and the South Tyrol Summer Classic (August 29–30), our guys will then face some real tests of their mettle.
