Back to Munich with the title: Strong Red Bulls deliver at the Deutschland CupSuccessful international break for five national team players// NATIONAL TEAMThe German national team won the 36th edition of the Deutschland Cup in Landshut last week. Five of our Red Bulls played a key role in this success.
After Tobias Rieder had to withdraw from this year's Deutschland Cup due to injury, Mathias Niederberger, Phillip Sinn, Yasin Ehliz, Fabio Wagner, and Maximilian Kastner from EHC Red Bull München made their way to Landshut last week.
Under national coach Harold Kreis, the national team had three games on the schedule as part of their final test before the 2026 Olympic Games.
First international goal for Sinn & award for Niederberger
Three of our Red Bulls in particular shone in Thursday's strong opening victory against Latvia (4-1): Yasin Ehliz scored the goal to make it 2-1 after good work from Phillip Sinn and then set up the young defender again in the third period, who scored his first international goal.
After his two shutout victories against Adler Mannheim (4-0) and Kölner Haie (2-0) before the international break, Mathias Niederberger once again impressed with a strong performance. This was rewarded with the “Man of the Match” award at the end.

Defeat against Austria & tournament victory with a strong Wagner
Maximilian Kastner made his debut in the second tournament game against Austria on Saturday. However, the national team was unable to build on its previous success and suffered a 2-5 defeat after a mixed performance.
In the final game against Slovakia, it was Fabio Wagner who made the decisive difference: our defender set up the 2-0 goal in collaboration with Maxi Kastner and also scored the 3-0 winner in his hometown. Ultimately, the DEB team secured the Germany Cup for the eleventh time with two wins from three games and a goal difference of 9-6. Next year's tournament will be held in Düsseldorf.
