PENNY DEL: Record TV Viewership in 2025/26

New TV viewership record for the PENNY DEL// NEWSThe games of the 2025–26 season in the German Ice Hockey League attracted more television viewers than ever before in the league's history.
In total, more than 36.5 million viewers watched the live broadcasts of the 406 games during the past season on pay-TV partner MagentaSport and free-to-air partner DF1.
This means the TV reach of the 14 DEL clubs increased by nearly seven million viewers—a 23 percent rise—compared to the previous record-breaking 2024–25 season. The PENNY DEL’s immense appeal was particularly evident during the playoffs, which concluded on Sunday evening with the Eisbären Berlin’s victory in the finals.
For the first time, more than 10 million viewers watched the decisive games in the battle for the German championship live on television, averaging more than 240,000 viewers per game.

In total, 3.21 million spectators attended games in the DEL arenas during the regular season and playoffs combined.
