U20 World Cup in Halifax: Nine Red Bulls in provisional German squad // NATIONAL TEAMNine players from the Red Bulls organization are in the provisional squad of the German Ice Hockey Federation for the U20 World Championship in Canada.Julian Lutz, Veit Oswald, Sebastian Cimmerman, Simon Wolf, Phillip Sinn, Philipp Krening, Quirin Bader, Thomas Heigl and Nikolaus Heigl were called up to the 26-man squad by national coach Tobias Abstreiter.
U20 national coach Tobias Abstreiter: "For me, squad selection is always about finding the best players for the World Championships and then meeting them on the small ice in such a way that each of them is skating as well as physically fit. First and foremost, it's always important for us to keep the top division."
Two test games before the World Championship
The German U20 national team will travel to Antigonish on Tuesday for World Cup preparation. Two test matches against Austria (December 20, 2022) and Latvia (December 22, 2022) are also scheduled between December 13 and 23, 2022.
The DEB team's first World Cup game will be against Sweden on December 27, 2022. The other opponents in Group A are Canada, Austria and the Czech Republic. The final will take place on January 6, 2023 at 0:30 a.m. German time.
