Back on the ice: Niederberger travels to join the DEB teamSeven München players in the current squad// NATIONAL TEAMMathias Niederberger will be part of the preliminary World Championship squad. The goalkeeper for EHC Red Bull München will join the DEB team and begin team training on Friday.
The 32-year-old will join national coach Harold Kreis' squad for the third phase of World Championship preparations after recovering from an injury sustained during this year's PENNY DEL playoffs. Niederberger will take part in ice training in Rosenheim for the first time on Friday. The DEB team will face Austria in Zell am See on Thursday (April 24, 7 p.m.).
On Saturday (April 26, 5 p.m.), there will be another clash with our neighbors in Rosenheim before preparations conclude with a tough test against the USA on May 4 (5 p.m.). The World Championship in Sweden and Denmark begins on May 9.

The goalkeeper is one of seven Munich players currently in the provisional World Cup squad. Alongside our number 35 Yasin Ehliz and Phillip Sinn were also invited to the third phase of preparations last Monday. Forward Tobias Rieder joined in phase two, while Patrick Hager, Maximilian Kastner, and Luis Schinko have been there since phase one.
