Olympic camp: Replacement Oswald supports DEB team in Bolzano// NATIONAL TEAMOn Monday, national coach Harold Kreis nominated Veit Oswald for the squad for the Olympic camp in Bolzano. The Red Bulls forward will support the team in preparation for the Winter Olympics in Milan.
The 21-year-old was already present at the official team presentation of the German national team in Munich on Monday. The forward, who was the league's top German scorer (five goals | seven assists) alongside Nuremberg's Samuel Dove-McFalls in the last ten DEL games, will join Yasin Ehliz and Maximilian Kastner in strengthening the DEB team ahead of the arrival of the NHL players.
The latter will travel to Milan later than planned, as the North American National Hockey League will not take a break until after the game day on February 6.

Munich trio part of the Olympic squad
Mathias Niederberger, Fabio Wagner, and Tobias Rieder were also outfitted. The trio from EHC Red Bull München is an integral part of the Olympic squad and will be playing for the national team at the tournament in Milan starting on February 12.

Information on the ice hockey tournament in Milan
The men's Olympic ice hockey tournament begins on February 11, 2026. The nations are divided into three different groups with four countries per group. The best four teams from the preliminary round, i.e., the three group winners and the best runner-up, automatically qualify for the quarterfinals. The remaining eight teams play an advanced qualifying round. The winners will complete the quarterfinals, while the four losers will be eliminated from the tournament. The tournament will then continue with a knockout system. The final will take place on February 22. The tournament will be held at the Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena (14,000 seats) and the Milano Rho Ice Hockey Arena (5,700 seats).
