DEL: EHC Red Bull München challenged away by Grizzlies Wolfsburg

Challenged in Wolfsburg: The Red Bulls have to watch out for this one// DEL - PREVIEWThe batteries are fully charged after a five-day break from the game, and so it's off to the final weeks of the 2022 calendar year.
The Red Bulls have two tough games ahead of them. On Thursday evening (7:30 p.m. | LIVE in the blog and on MagentaSport), our boys are challenged by the Grizzlys Wolfsburg, and on Sunday (4:30 p.m.), it comes to the top game against the Adler Mannheim at the Olympia-Eisstadion.
"We have to bring our game to the ice over 60 minutes, do a good job defensively and be just as efficient offensively as we have been in recent games. That's the only way we can hold our own against strong opponents like Wolfsburg and Mannheim," Maximilian Kastner knows.

Unusually long breather
In total, there are still nine games in 23 days before the turn of the year. "The little time off really did us good, both physically and mentally," says Austin Ortega. The US American (21 points) recently had to relinquish his status as the Red Bulls' top scorer, as Andreas Eder moved to the top of the internal rankings with a strong haul in November (five goals, one assist).
Comfortable gap
Our team has remained at the top of the DEL table since Matchday 17. Current point average: 2.27. The lead over the pursuers from Mannheim (Ø 1.92) and Ingolstadt (Ø 1.8) has become relatively large due to the eight-game winning streak. Wolfsburg (average 1.65) is currently in fifth place.

// DEL - HIGHLIGHTS
The record between Munich and Wolfsburg could hardly be more balanced: 33 wins against 30 defeats. Most recently, the Red Bulls rejoiced four times. In the most recent away win on October 9 (5:1), the stage belonged to Chris DeSousa, who was the match-winner with a hat trick at his former club. He scored two of his three goals on the power play.
Wolfsburg's top discipline
While we're on the subject: The Red Bulls' overtime game is already very strong at 28.2 percent, but nobody beats Wolfsburg's success rate (31.3 percent). The Grizzlys have scored about a quarter of their goals so far (20 of 76) with a man more on the ice. So the mission is clear: get away from the penalty box and on to their ninth DEL win in a row
