Highlights: Schwenninger Wild Wings – Red Bull München (23.12.2022)
// DEL - HIGHLIGHTS
Game play
At the beginning a feeling out of both teams. That changed after about five minutes: The Red Bulls with the first chances, Schwenningen also approached the goal of Mathias Niederberger - the match at operating temperature. Just like returnee Smith, who provided the 1:0 for the Red Bulls in overtime (8.). Munich was superior and had opportunities, Schwenningen defended passionately. Because, among others, youngster Timo Ruckdäschel (17.) missed, it remained with the narrow lead at the first break.
The Red Bulls got off to a lightning start in the middle period. A dream pass from Zach Redmond and captain Hager alone in front of goalie Joacim Eriksson increased the lead to 2:0. Just 16 seconds were played in the second period. After that, the hosts had more drive for the goal and intense duels dominated the game. No problem for the league leader, who defended with concentration, attacked skillfully and shifted the game back in front of the Wild Wings' goal. Munich continued to be ice-cold. Ehliz added the 3:0 in overtime (38th). The great pass came this time from Jonathon Blum. With this score it went into the second break.
First a huge chance for Schwenningen, then Ortega's goal against the post - the final period started spectacularly. The Red Bulls continued to have everything under control and decided the game with a double strike: First Parkes scored the 4:0 (52.) and only 48 seconds later Ortega followed up with the fifth goal. Brandon DeFazio and Daniel Pfaffengut then scored twice more for the hosts (57th), but this did nothing to change the sovereign victory of the leaders.

Trevor Parkes:
"It's always tough to come out on top in Schwenningen. These three points are definitely a great Christmas present. We'll enjoy the trip home, but be ready again on Monday against Augsburg."
