DEL: EHC Red Bull München receives Adler Mannheim for top game
On Sunday at 4:30 p.m. (LIVE in our blog), our boys will welcome Adler Mannheim to the Olympia-Eisstadion. The prestigious duel is also the top game of the PENNY DEL, because Munich is the leader of the standings in the comparison with its first pursuer.
A spectacle that Status Quo won't want to miss. The interpreters of our goal anthem will be on site and will also take over the symbolic bully before the game.
Jackson praises his boys
"I have to give the guys a lot of respect. They always believed in themselves," coach Don Jackson said after the wild ride in Wolfsburg. In a 6-5 win after penalty shootout, the Red Bulls erased an interim three-goal deficit. In the shootout, Maksymilian Szuber sank the decisive attempt for the ninth DEL win in a row.

Another guarantee for success in Wolfsburg was once again the special teams: The shorthanded units remained without conceding a goal, and in overtime our guys scored twice and thus in the sixth game in a row. No other team can currently top Munich's power play (29.6 percent) and penalty killing (86.1 percent).
Rested Adler
The Adler travel to Oberwiesenfeld with full batteries. The Kurpfälzer were last challenged last weekend in the DEL Winter Game in Cologne (2:4), since then the team of Bill Stewart could bundle the forces for the top game in the Olympia-Eisstadion. And work on things that have not pleased the coach lately. "Above all, we cannot continue to accept the number and type of goals we concede," Stewart said after conceding 19 goals in the past five games.

Beware of Plachta
On the offensive end, the Adler can often rely on Matthias Plachta this season. The German international forward leads the league's scoring list with 33 goal contributions in 25 appearances. The 31-year-old also netted in the two season duels against Munich so far - most recently in Mannheim's 3:2 home win. Our team won the first encounter 5:2 in front of its home crowd, and our boys will be looking to follow suit on Sunday.
