Tough test in Ingolstadt passed
Main round win, playoff home rights in all rounds and ninth Champions League qualification in a row locked up: with the derby win at table runner-up Ingolstadt, the Red Bulls were able to cross several tasks off their to-do list at once. "It's a great achievement and nice to know that we will always have home advantage in the playoffs," Austin Ortega summed up after Thursday's practice.

A lot of running, intensive physical play and the right balance between defense and offense were the keys to success for the Panthers. Added to this was strong penalty killing: In the second period, Munich survived six minutes of shorthanded play in a row. A good way to prepare for the hottest time of the year.
"We are excited to see who we will get as an opponent. Now we want to use the last games to start the playoffs with a good feeling," "Tegs" gave the marching orders. With four wins in a row, our guys have been able to build up a lot of self-confidence.
Last-minute experts: Late goals bring points
That also applies to the Löwen Frankfurt. Coach Gerry Fleming's team is in tenth place with a points average of 1.42 and thus still has qualification for the first playoff round in its own hands.
On Sunday, a real exclamation point was made with a 3:2 win over their big rivals from Mannheim, followed two days later by an overtime win against Iserlohn. Overall, it is striking that hardly any other team in the league scores as many goals shortly before the end as the Löwen, who are known for their comeback qualities.
Key players stay on board
The Löwen Frankfurt also have a lot planned for the coming season. With the two top scorers Carter Rowney and Dominik Bokk, two absolute key players already extended their contracts. The former NHL professional Rowney stands at 19 goals and 34 assists. Bokk has 24 goals and 25 assists, but is currently injured.
Brett Breitkreuz, another cornerstone, signed a new contract. At the beginning of February, Callum Booth moved to the Main. The native Canadian serves as a backup at the goalkeeper position.
