DEL: EHC Red Bull München celebrates derby win in Nuremberg
Yasin Ehliz scored a triple in front of 7,133 spectators, Andreas Eder scored twice. Maximilian Kastner was also successful for the PENNY DEL leaders.

The Red Bulls started the derby with debutant Emil Johansson. It took eight minutes before the Swedish newcomer could celebrate for the first time: Ehliz converted Zach Redmond's assist to make it 1:0. The league leaders were clearly superior after that and were successful again in the 18th minute. Eder increased the lead to 2:0 with a precise shot on the powerplay, which was the score going into the first intermission.
In the middle period, the tide initially turned, as the Ice Tigers set offensive accents and came back with a double strike: Gregor MacLeod reduced the score on the power play (25th), before Dane Fox added the 2:2 just 29 seconds later (26th). Danny aus den Birken in the Red Bulls' goal prevented another Nuremberg goal a few minutes later (29th). Shortly after, a penalty time slowed down the hosts - and again Eder was on the spot in the power play (32.). The forward's second goal of the afternoon gave Munich a slim lead after 40 minutes.
The Ice Tigers, however, did not give in. Aus den Birken was called upon more often again in the final period and had no chance against Dennis Lobach's shot in the 48th minute. It went back and forth, both teams in forward gear. But once again the Red Bulls went ahead through Ehliz (55th) - 4:3. In the final period, Nuremberg pressed for the equalizer in power play with the additional field player, but the goals fell on the other side: Kastner (59th) and three-packer Ehliz (60th) made it 6:3 with their empty-net goals and thus put the lid on.
