// DEL - HIGHLIGHTS
Gameplay
A lively start from both teams, but Wolfsburg with the first effective goal: Tyler Morley converted a pass in front of the goal to make it 1:0 for the visitors (4.). The Red Bulls, however, were unimpressed and shortly afterwards had a great chance to equalize, but Austin Ortega could not beat Dustin Strahlmeier (5.). The Grizzlys goalkeeper was also in the spotlight after that, as Munich created numerous opportunities - but the score did not change before the first period break.
The Red Bulls were also on the move in the middle period. Don Jackson's team kept forcing the Grizzlys into the defensive and had a few top chances, but Strahlmeier was the last stop. The keeper's brilliant saves ensured that Wolfsburg's narrow lead remained intact after 40 minutes.
A similar picture in the final period: Munich dominated, the Grizzlys defended their goal sacrificially. Shortly before the end, Jackson brought in the additional field player and the Red Bulls rewarded themselves. Street took out the hammer and scored the 1:1 (59th) after Austin Ortega and Patrick Hager had done the groundwork. For captain Hager it was the 500th scoring point in the DEL.
It went into overtime. After the Red Bulls failed to take advantage of a double overtime, Schütz made his big appearance: The Munich forward converted a solo effort to make it 2-1 and brought great jubilation to the Olympia Eisstadion with his winning goal (64th).
