DEL: EHC Red Bull München ahead of last away game in Düsseldorf

Last away game in the main round: Red Bulls in Düsseldorf required// DEL - PREVIEWThe best time of the ice hockey year is just around the corner. The Red Bulls are in action three times before the playoffs, on Sunday (15:15 | LIVE in our blog and on MagentaSport) at the Düsseldorfer EG for the last time in this main round away.
A tough opponent, because the Rhinelanders are the hottest team in the league with nine wins from the past ten games. Our boys don't have to hide, however, and will be looking to record their sixth win in a row on Sunday.
Parkes is scoring and has his sights set on the playoffs
"We want to go into the playoffs on a roll," said Trevor Parkes after Munich's 4-0 win over Löwen Frankfurt on Friday. The Canadian forward extended his personal statistics to 150 goals in the German top flight with a brace in his 250th DEL game for the Red Bulls.

Incidentally, since Parkes moved to the DEL from North America in 2016, only Berlin's Leo Pföderl (153 goals) has scored more often. Parkes is hot and wants to add to his tally before the playoffs. However, this will be difficult in Düsseldorf, because Henrik Haukeland, one of the best goalies in the league, will be in the opposing goal.
Former Red Bulls carry the DEG
Parkes knows Haukeland from last season, as the Norwegian national goalkeeper was still playing in Munich. Marathon man Haukeland started in 47 of 52 games of his team and delivers with 2852:35 minutes played the league best of all goalkeepers. There is no sign of exhaustion. Only three keepers have a better catch rate than Haukeland (92.1 percent).
Haukeland
On the offensive side, another ex-Munich player has been shining in recent weeks: Philip Gogulla has been involved in 13 goals in his last ten appearances, making him one of the league's top scorers in that period. The two former Red Bulls have played a big part in DEG's fifth place finish - and even third place is still realistic, as Straubing and Mannheim are only three and two points ahead of coach Roger Hansson's team, respectively.
Organized and successful
Hansson, like Haukeland, has been a Düsseldorf native since the beginning of this season. The Swede followed in the big footsteps of new national coach Harold Kreis - and is convincing all along the line. Under Hansson, the Düsseldorf team plays in a structured manner, and his match plan very often works. The Red Bulls have already experienced this this season, as DEG won both of their guest games at the Olympia Eisstadion. In Düsseldorf, however, our boys were successful. On Sunday, the equalization in the duel statistics of this season should follow.
