Quarter-final 1 | Highlights: Adler Mannheim vs. EHC Red Bull München (16/03/2025)
// PLAYOFF-HIGHLIGHTS
Dallas Eakins (coach, Adler Mannheim): "It was an extremely close game. It absolutely came down to the little things. In 50 such games, München and we would each win 25 of them. The DEL should have scheduled all the games for 2 p.m., because I think all the games could end in overtime. So we have some long nights ahead of us. We will now get some rest and then prepare for the next game.“ Arno Tiefensee (goaltender, Adler Mannheim): ”It was a great atmosphere and we are happy to get the first win. It was damn close, but in the end, it's the win that counts.” Marc Michaelis (forward, Adler Mannheim): "It was foreseeable that the series would be close. An overtime right in game one fits that. The winning goal was a typical playoff goal. München had a similar opportunity shortly before that went just wide. These are the famous little things that matter.”

Statistics
This was the 11th time the two clubs have met in the playoffs, and the fourth time the decision has been made in overtime. The overtime record is now even with two wins each for München and Mannheim. The Red Bulls fired 37 shots on goal – 13 more than the Adler. Our shot rate (2.94 percent) can still be improved. The Adler went three times without scoring on the power play, while München converted one of three opportunities. The goal was scored by Markus Eisenschmid. During the regular season, Eisenschmid had already scored six times on the power play for the Red Bulls – only Chris DeSousa scored more often (seven times). München survived the last eleven power plays by the Adler (25:00 minutes) unscathed. Well done to Will Butcher: Our defender spent more time on the ice than any other player (26:36 minutes) and covered more distance (5,944 meters). The Red Bulls controlled the puck for 21:28 minutes, just about a third of the game, while the Adler had it for seven minutes less (14:21).
