DEL preview, match day 23: EHC Red Bull München visits Iserlohn

Red Bulls in strong form looking to extend their winning streak in Iserlohn// DEL - PREVIEWWith four wins under their belt, Red Bull Munich travels to Seilersee. There, our team will be looking to secure their fifth victory on Friday against the Iserlohn Roosters. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. (live on MagentaSport & in our blog).
The Red Bulls have established contact with the top group and their self-confidence is huge - also because of games like the 5:3 win against the Straubing Tigers last Tuesday. Veit Oswald was one of the goalscorers in the derby. For the forward, the current winning streak has to do with the head and the system of coach Oliver David.
Oswald: "The head plays a big role"
"We play a difficult system. Everyone has to be in the perfect position, otherwise it collapses like a house of cards. The head also plays a role here," explains Oswald, who adds: "We've developed a good mentality of sticking to our game - even if we concede two goals." Just like against Straubing, when the Red Bulls responded to two quick goals from the visitors with a double strike of their own.
In the end, it was their fourth three in a row. Oswald: "It's difficult to beat us. If we keep playing like this and continue the trend, we're definitely a top team." We recently impressed on the road at reigning champions Berlin (3:1) and in the derby in Augsburg (8:3). We can continue like this. Things also looked good for us against Iserlohn: Munich won 13 of the last 14 encounters - including seven away wins in a row.

The Iserlohn liberation blow
The Iserlohn Roosters got the frustration off their chest on Wednesday. Coach Stefan Nyman's team celebrated a clear 6:1 victory in the basement duel at bottom team Eislöwen Dresden. It was a liberating blow for several reasons. Firstly, the Roosters won for the first time after four previous defeats, and secondly, they scored a goal for the first time in three games without scoring. And more importantly, they created a five-point cushion between themselves and the relegation zone.
Goalie Jenike a bench player when it counts
Andreas Jenike was given the starting berth in goal in the key game. The veteran is not playing his best season statistically (catch rate: 89.3%), but proved once again that you can rely on him when it counts. The other part of the goalkeeping duo is Hendrik Hane (91.3 percent), who has achieved better figures in his nine appearances.
Key players: Fischbuch and Ugbekile
Two players stand out from the Roosters' squad this season: German internationals Colin Ugbekile and Daniel Fischbuch. Ugbekile (18 scoring points) is not only by far the Roosters' most productive defenseman, he is also one of the best scoring defensemen in the entire league. The Roosters' power play stands and falls with Ugbekile's performances.

This also applies to striker Fischbuch. The new signing from Adler Mannheim already has 20 scoring points to his name - including ten goals. The captain scored one on Wednesday in Dresden. Fischbuch and Ugbekile lead the way. The latter emphasized on the MagentaSport microphone after the success in Dresden: "We've built up momentum and want to take that into the next games."
Oswald calls for focus: "Then I'm convinced we'll win."
The Red Bulls want to put a stop to that. Oswald is looking forward to the clash at the Seilersee. "The atmosphere is almost like a derby. It feels like the fans are tearing the place down," says the striker. He demands absolute concentration: "It's very much a matter of the head. No matter where the opponent is - you can't underestimate any team and you have to be mentally ready. If we can do that, I'm convinced we'll win."
