After a short Christmas break: Red Bulls want to follow up against FrankfurtTickets still available// DEL - PREVIEWAfter a short break over Christmas, it's back to business on the ice on Friday (7:00 p.m.): EHC Red Bull München welcomes Löwen Frankfurt to SAP Garden with the clear goal of extending two series.
Oliver David's team is currently going from success to success. They have won eight games in a row recently, and we even have a winning streak of ten games at home in the SAP Garden.
Highlights: ERC Ingolstadt vs. EHC Red Bull München (23.12.2025)
// DEL - HIGHLIGHTS
With the 3:1 derby victory in the top match in Ingolstadt, the Red Bulls set another exclamation mark. We climbed to third place in the table. So our boys gave themselves the best Christmas present. Now we want to go one better against Frankfurt.
Balance clearly goes to the Red Bulls
The four-time German champions have won ten out of twelve encounters. However, the first clash this season showed just how difficult it can be against the Lions. We were beaten 2:1 after extra time in the Main metropolis. The revenge followed in the second encounter, which went 5:0 to the Red Bulls. Goalie Antoine Bibeau was able to celebrate his second shutout in the DEL.

// DEL - HIGHLIGHTS
Bibeau with an outstanding December
Since his arrival in Munich, the Canadian (four NHL games) has been the strong support he was hoping for. His statistics in December are outstanding: seven games, seven wins, only 0.99 goals against per game with a 96.2 percent save percentage and two shutouts. Now it's time for a duel between the former NHL goalies.
The Löwen Frankfurt responded to Cody Brenner's injury with a spectacular re-signing: shortly before Christmas, the Hessians signed Dustin Tokarski. Last season, the 36-year-old played five NHL games for the Carolina Hurricanes, making a total of 91 appearances in the world's best league.
Tokarski is now playing for a team outside North America for the first time. However, the Frankfurt chapter began for him with two defeats in Iserlohn (4:6) and against Cologne (1:4). His save percentage after two games is 85.7 percent. The new goalie was therefore unable to prevent the Lions from going nine games without a win and slipping to second-last place in the table.
Construction sites at the Lions
In terms of goals scored (69) and goals conceded (127), only bottom-placed Dresden are weaker. The special teams have also rarely been a factor so far this season. In the power play, however, the form curve has been on the rise recently: In the past four games, the Lions have scored five times when outnumbered.
Linus Fröberg was involved in each of these goals. The Swede, who is actually a forward, has recently been playing in defense. With 25 points, he is also Frankfurt's top scorer - ahead of his compatriot Maksim Matushkin (20 points).
Last season's top-scoring defender is also one of the league's strongest offensive defensive players this season. In attack, Matthew Wedman has recently impressed with seven points (three goals) in his last five appearances.

Long injury list on both sides
Probably the biggest issue for the Lions at the moment is the injury situation: in addition to goalkeeper Brenner, Reid McNeill (hand injury), a key player in defense, is missing. Carter Proft is out for the entire season due to a shoulder injury. Ryan McKiernan also had to take a break recently with an upper body injury. The twins Timo and Fabio Kose are currently traveling with the German U20 national team in the USA. At least Nathan Burns returned to the Hesse line-up for the last home game against Cologne.
The Red Bulls also have to compensate for a long list of injuries. Mathias Niederberger, Adam Brooks, Markus Eisenschmid, Maxi Kastner, Tobi Rieder (all lower body) and Phillip Sinn (upper body) were missing in Ingolstadt. Nevertheless, we scored diligently. We'll be happy to continue like this in the first game after Christmas.
