DEL preview, match day 8: EHC Red Bull Munich visits Schwenningen
The Red Bulls will not only play their 900th DEL game in the Helios Arena, but also the first of four away games in a row. The next home duel in the SAP Garden is not until October 19 at 7:00 pm against the Dresdner Eislöwen.
Schwenningen already won 4:1 at home against the newly promoted DEL team on Thursday, while our boys lost 5:7 against the Grizzlys Wolfsburg on Friday.

Live broadcast in the HENRY
If you want to watch the Wild Wings game live on TV, you can do so in the SAP Garden. The game will once again be broadcast LIVE on the screens in the HENRY.
Munich too disorganized against Wolfsburg
On Sunday, the Red Bulls want to strike back and give the right answer to the home defeat. Against Wolfsburg, coach Oliver David's team, which almost managed to equalize in the end, got into too many counterattacks and made it too easy for the Grizzlies. The Wild Wings certainly don't want a repeat of that.
Schwenningen builds on home strength
Our next opponents had to play five of their first seven games this season away from home and were therefore only allowed to play twice on home ice. The team of former Munich co-coach Steve Walker collected a total of eleven points, which currently puts Schwenningen in mid-table. While the power play is not yet working with a success rate of just 16 percent, things are going much better when they are short-handed (more than 86 percent).
One thing is clear: the team from the Black Forest, who play on the smallest ice in the league (60x26 meters), want to build on their usual home strength of the past two seasons.

Reunion with Dominik Bittner
The twins Tylor and Tyson Spink, who lead the internal scoring list with three goals and three assists each so far, are expected to help out again. Goal scorer Zach Senyshyn (28 goals last year) recently scored for the first time this season against Dresden, and Kyle Platzer is also dangerous. Tim Gettinger, another attacker, moved to Schwenningen in the summer, but the US-American is injured. Jordan Szwarz, who brought four years of DEL experience with him from Adler Mannheim, is also new.
Defenseman Dominik Bittner, on the other hand, has played for the Red Bulls for the last two years, and the 33-year-old is now set to add stability to the Schwenningen defense. The Swede Eric Martinsson also has blueliner qualities, and the defenseman has already won two Swedish championship titles with the Växjö Lakers. Compatriot Joacim Eriksson is the number one goalie and one of the best keepers in the league.
Red Bulls want to end the streak
But regardless of whether Eriksson is in the box on Sunday or his deputy Michael Bitzer, the Red Bulls are determined to end the streak. In the past eight games between Schwenningen and Munich, the home team has always won. So it's time for an away win!
