EHC Red Bull München: Photos from the pre-season medical exams

Medical Checkups: Everything You Need to Know About the Exams Before You Start Training// StoriesBefore our Red Bulls begin their preparations for the 2026–27 season, they’ll first undergo the mandatory medical exams. You can see some first impressions of these in our photo gallery.
The team’s first joint and public on-ice practice will take place on August 9 at 11:00 a.m. as part of the season opener in the already sold-out Training Hall 1 at SAP Garden.
From Munich to Liefering
Prior to that, all players will undergo a multi-day evaluation program consisting of medical checkups and performance diagnostics. The medical examinations are a prerequisite for receiving a license. Performance diagnostics are used to assess current fitness levels, determine individual training priorities, and identify injury risks early on.
Some of the examinations were already conducted in Munich by the team doctors. These include, among other things, orthopedic checks with muscle function tests, joint examinations, and an analysis of the musculoskeletal system. Any pre-existing conditions from the past are also taken into account.
Starting this week, additional tests are scheduled at the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy in Liefering. There, the players will undergo cardiac examinations, including a resting ECG, a stress ECG, and an echocardiogram. In addition, they will undergo performance testing, which includes endurance and strength tests, among other things.
All examinations will be completed by August 8 at the latest—in time for the first group practice on the ice.
