One of the most beautiful actions of recent weeks is certainly the goal against the Grizzlies Wolfsburg: Ehliz gets to the puck in front of the goal, can shoot, but has the eye for Austin Ortega. His congenial partner plays back, Ehliz takes off without humor and scores. A dream goal. The "brutally strong" Ortega
Ehliz's congenial partner on the ice is Ortega, and not just for his dream goal against Wolfsburg. The US-German duo has been mixing up the opposing defensive lines for weeks. Both harmonize splendidly with each other and benefit from each other. "I've been playing together with Austin since last season. He's a brutally strong player who can score goals and make passes," Ehliz says of his partner.
While he himself is more of a set-up man, Ortega leads the DEL scoring charts with 19 goals - and has also been hot with 16 scorer points in ten consecutive matches. His total of 37 scorer points currently means position 3 in the league rankings. That puts Ortega just one point and one place behind Ehliz. The duo will be looking to leave their mark again in the next match in Frankfurt.
