EHC Red Bull München: Maximilian Daubner injured for the time being
There was a scary moment on the ice in the first period of the 1-0 defeat against first-round winners Cologne. Munich's Daubner was hit in the face with a puck and left the arena bleeding but on his own. The 28-year-old was taken to hospital that evening for precautionary examinations.
Winkler: "He's fine under the circumstances"
"He's on his way to hospital because they need to see if there's anything wrong with the bone. It was an unpleasant scene, but unfortunately that happens in ice hockey," explained Christian Winkler (Managing Director Sports Red Bull Ice Hockey) during the break between periods on MagentaSport. Despite the injury, which prevents Daubner from returning to the Red Bulls' line-up for the time being, the all-clear has been given: "He's doing well under the circumstances. He had several stitches," said Winkler.
Further examinations will show when the defender will be able to play for the four-time German champions again.
