EHC Red Bull München: How the public training session at SAP Garden went

Public training session at SAP Garden: Red Bulls switch to playoff modeOliver David calls for the right mindset// CURRENTThe Olympic break is coming to an end. Before EHC Red Bull München kicks off the first of eight remaining regular season games against Ingolstadt on Wednesday, Oliver David's team held a public training session.
Last Saturday, 450 fans gathered in Hall 1 of the SAP Garden to watch our players live on the ice ahead of the decisive games of the main round. In addition to the pros, the U20 team from the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy also took part in the public training session.

“We are very grateful”
The players competed in mixed teams for around an hour in an intense match – a valuable experience for the young players and, at the same time, an important opportunity for our Red Bulls to get back into the rhythm of the game after the month-long Olympic break. Coach Oliver David shares this view.
“We are very grateful that we have the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy and can draw on its players. The school situation there is so good that they can come to us without any problems,” our coach sums up after the public training session, adding: “The guys bring a lot of energy, really challenge us, and help us find our rhythm despite the difficult situation.”
From now on, it's playoff mentality
The rhythm of play is very important with the playoffs approaching. Although there are still eight regular season games to go, David is clear: the hot phase is already beginning. On Wednesday (February 25 | 7:30 p.m.), our team will face ERC Ingolstadt at home.

“For us, the playoffs start on February 25, not in March. The last eight games are extremely important: they determine Champions League qualification, home advantage, and our potential opponents,” explains our coach, who also emphasizes: “In this incredibly tight league, a win can mean second place and a loss can mean fifth place. Overall, I think the season has been very successful so far, but from now on we have to play with an absolute playoff mentality.”
EHC Red Bull Munich has five home games and three away games left in the regular season before the playoffs begin in March. All five games at SAP Garden are already sold out.
Attendance record broken
This means we can also celebrate a new attendance record. In our first season in our new home, we set a record with 264,573 fans, and now, after 26 DEL home games, 17 of which were sold out, the total attendance stands at 268,545. This means that our average attendance has risen from 10,176 to 10,329 spectators per game, with a total capacity utilization of just under 96 percent.
