EHC Red Bull München: How the 2026 Season Finale Unfolded
Around 2,000 fans made their way to SAP Garden on Saturday. With temperatures over 20 degrees and bright sunshine, we didn’t miss the chance to extend the season-ending event—at least in part—to the terrace at Henry’s.
Before and after the official program, many of you took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy a Hacker-Pschorr or two in the sun. Following a lively stage program starting at 2:30 p.m.—including several CheckBack-related activities and an entertaining live auction of a game-worn jersey from Koni Abeltshauser—the team took center stage at 3:30 p.m.

Hede and Thaler Join the Red Bulls
First, Christian Winkler (Managing Director of Sports at Red Bull Ice Hockey) recapped the previous season, covering all its highs and lows. Then came the big news: With Elis Hede (Straubing Tigers) and Lucas Thaler (EC Red Bull Salzburg), we can already announce the first two top-tier signings for the 2026/27 season.
Next up was the coaching staff led by Oliver David, including the entire team. After a few words from the coach about his first year in Munich, the team joined in. Captain Patrick Hager followed up on the previous speakers with a brief recap—and then things got emotional.

A Grand Farewell at the Season Finale
Six players are leaving the Red Bulls this summer. For Dillon Heatherington, Nikolaus Heigl, Vadim Schreiner, Alberts Smits, and Simon Wolf, this was their final season in the Munich jersey. Konrad Abeltshauser is also leaving EHC Red Bull München. Amid applause and chants, our number 16, who has been a stalwart in goal for over ten years, bid farewell. “Thank you for making my time here so wonderful—and my departure so difficult,” said Koni.

Im Anschluss fand im Umlauf des SAP Garden eine Autogrammstunde mit allen Spielern an verschiedenen Stationen statt. Hier gab es Gelegenheit für Fotos und den ein oder anderen Plausch. Aufgrund der enormen Teilnahme in diesem Jahr hat nicht jeder Fan sich alle Autogramme sichern können. Im Verlauf der Sommerpause wird es allerdings noch Möglichkeiten geben, sich Autogramme von verschiedenen Spielern zu sichern.
