EHC Red Bull München: Reactions and Stats from Semifinals Game 1 vs Mannheim
Quotes
Oliver David (Coach, EHC Red Bull München): “I was satisfied with our start. In the second period, we failed to capitalize on three power plays. Mannheim defended excellently in those situations. We stuck to our game plan afterward, but didn’t capitalize on our chances. In overtime, we were able to establish ourselves in their zone for two or three minutes and build a lot of pressure—but we didn’t reward ourselves and lost the game. Still, it was a good start to the series; I saw a lot of positives. Now we have to turn the tide and be ready for Game 2 on Friday.”
Phillip Sinn (Defenseman, EHC Red Bull München): “It was a very solid game for us. We managed to keep our play relatively simple and found good ways to move the puck forward. In the end, we lacked a bit of luck in front of the net. But if we keep playing like this, we’ll turn that in our favor in the next games.”

Dallas Eakins (Head Coach, Adler Mannheim): “It wasn’t our best game at five-on-five. Both our penalty kill and Maxi Franzreb were very strong. We weathered the most critical phase well—when Munich applied a lot of pressure in overtime. The winning goal was somewhat reminiscent of Munich’s first goal. In the end, we’re obviously very happy with the opening win in this series and are now preparing for the next game.”
Maximilian Franzreb (Goaltender, Adler Mannheim): “It was a very competitive game at a high level. Maybe not the prettiest goals, but that’s exactly how it goes in the playoffs. The main thing is that the pucks go in somehow. Now all that matters is the next game. Munich will give it their all at home, and we have to be ready for that right from the start.”
