EHC Red Bull München: U23 Youth Network with Memmingen, Riessersee, and Tölz

Red Bull München Expands Its U23 Youth Development Network// NEWSEHC Red Bull München has further developed its U23 development program for the 2026–27 season.
Through a closely integrated network of partners from the DEL2 & Oberliga, young players will be guided toward the professional ranks in an even more targeted manner in the future.
The goal is to give them as much playing experience and ice time as possible at the appropriate level.
Collaboration with DEL2 Club Memmingen
A key component of the concept is the new partnership with the ECDC Memmingen Indians. For the first time, both clubs are collaborating within the framework of the development license system. In the future, U23 players from EHC Red Bull Munich will be able to play for the DEL2 club with a development license. At the same time, U23 players from the Allgäu-based team can be issued a development license for EHC Red Bull Munich.
The development program is complemented by partnerships with two Oberliga teams from the region. Goaltender Matthias Bittner (22) has once again been granted a development license for the Tölzer Löwen. With the club from the Bavarian Oberland, Red Bull Munich is continuing a partnership that already proved successful last season under the development license system.
EHC Red Bull Munich is also resuming its partnership with SC Riessersee. After a hiatus of several years, both clubs are building on their long-standing and successful partnership from years past. Goaltender Max Bolle (18) and forward Luis Becker (18), who transferred to Munich from the EV Landshut youth program for the new season, have been granted development licenses for the club from Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The two former U18 national team players are now part of the German Ice Hockey Federation’s (DEB) U20 squad and are among the most promising German prospects of their age group.
“We’ve created the best possible structure”
Thanks to the close integration between the Red Bulls in the DEL and their partner clubs in the DEL2 and Oberliga, young players regularly get playing time at their respective developmental levels. At the same time, EHC Red Bull Munich retains the necessary flexibility at all times to bring talented players into the professional roster and respond to personnel changes.
Christian Winkler, Managing Director of Sports at Red Bull Icehockey: “For young players, ice time is the most important currency. They need to play regularly, take on responsibility, and gain experience. We believe we’ve created the best possible structure for exactly that with Memmingen, SC Riessersee, and the Tölzer Löwen. This allows our German talents to develop step by step, and at the same time, we know they’re in the best possible hands in a professional environment.”
