EHC Red Bull Munich: Facts and figures for the 2025/26 season so far
The start to the current season did not necessarily go according to the expectations of our coach Oliver David. After briefly slipping to eleventh place in the table, the team has made an impressive turnaround and caught up.
Since the international break at the beginning of November, the Red Bulls have had a different look about them. Since then, our boys have averaged around 2.04 points - only the league leaders Kölner Haie (2.63) have managed more.
Defense a bank
A core element of our upswing is our defense. Only 59 goals conceded in the 27 games since mid-November is a league best. With a total of 111 goals conceded, we are the second-best defensive team in the DEL this season after Adler Mannheim (104).

Goalies Antoine Bibeau and Mathias Niederberger have played a big part in this. The duo has already kept our box completely clean five times. Bibeau's save percentage (92.7 percent | three shutouts) is only surpassed in the league by Sharks goalie Janne Juvonen (93.3).
Fortress SAP Garden
The fans in our SAP Garden were particularly happy. Between October 19 and December 18, we won ten home games in a row. Only once in our DEL history have we celebrated more home wins in a row (eleven in the 2017/18 season). You can say that: The Red Bulls have definitely arrived at their new home after a year and a half.
We're the third-best home team this DEL season - and the fans are rewarding that: Our living room has already been sold out twelve times with 10,796 spectators. The average attendance is 10,217 fans. This means that we have even increased our attendance compared to the previous season.

Effective artist: Hirose shines as a preparer
There are enough strong individualists in our squad. One of them is Taro Hirose. The technically adept forward is seventh on the DEL scoring list with 47 points. His 39 assists are only topped by the league's top scorer Evan Barratt (44).
Between the end of October and mid-November, the Canadian scored in six games in a row - our longest scoring streak this season. Hirose scored five games in a row two more times. Veit Oswald and Jeremy McKenna can also look back on a five-game streak.
Scorer McKenna
McKenna needed some time to get going after his transfer from Nuremberg. In the meantime, his hard-hitting and precise wrist shots are increasingly finding their way into the opposition's box. With 14 goals, he leads our internal list of top scorers. Alongside him, seven other Munich players have scored in double figures. Only the goal factory of ERC Ingolstadt (nine) can boast more ten-goal players.

Fast, precise, fearless
Our fastest player this season is Yasin Ehliz. He was clocked at 37.6 km/h. Olympic players Tobias Rieder and Fabio Wagner also left their mark: Rieder is our most effective shooter with a shooting rate of 22.0 percent, Wagner is a bulwark in defense with 46 blocks.
Diligence cards for Pokka
Another cornerstone of the defense is Ville Pokka. The Finn fired our hardest shot of the season (162.7 km/h). He covered 200.22 km, making him the only man from Munich to break the 200-kilometer barrier so far. His 889.24 minutes of ice time and 1,147 changes are also tops.
The Champions Hockey League in his sights
Despite top players like Hirose, McKenna and Pokka, the star is the team. Coach Oliver David consistently relies on four lines - and each of them can score goals without neglecting the defense.
We are currently on course for a home play-off spot. Safe qualification for the Champions League is five points away, and third place could also be enough. The gap to ERC Ingolstadt is one point. That is the goal for the remaining eight games after the Olympic break.

And despite strong numbers, especially in the middle part of the season, the month-long break comes at a good time. Recently, we have repeatedly been hit by bad luck with injuries. Especially in the tightly timed weeks around the turn of the year, every fit player had to walk more than just one extra meter. The team is currently missing five key players in Antoine Bibeau, Adam Brooks, Chris DeSousa, Gabriel Fontaine and Veit Oswald.
After two recent defeats in Mannheim (3:4 n. P.) and at the Schwenninger Willd Wings (1:3), a little reset might be just the thing.
A cracker after the break
Now it's time to recharge their batteries for the ultimate final spurt of the season after the Olympic break. Eight games are then on the program. It continues on February 25 at 7:30 p.m. with a cracker - the Upper Bavaria derby against their neighbors from Ingolstadt.
