Red Bull München bids farewell to Jonathon Blum// TEAMDefender Jonathon Blum will not be part of the EHC Red Bull München squad for the 2025/26 season.The 36-year-old is leaving the four-time German champions after a total of four years. The American moved to the Bavarian capital from Swedish top club Färjestad BK for the 2021/22 season.
Blum's greatest success with the Red Bulls is winning the German championship in 2023. As a playmaker, the 36-year-old finished the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons as the best assist provider among all defenders in the PENNY DEL. The California native played a total of 267 games for Red Bull München (241 PENNY DEL | 26 Champions League), contributing to 190 goals across all competitions.
Blum “grateful for the four years”
Jonathon Blum: “My family and I are very grateful for the four years we have been able to experience here in Munich. I have met some great people here and made friends for life. We will miss the city very much and hope to be able to return one day.”

Blum is the 13th player from the 2024/25 season to leave Munich, following goalkeepers Evan Fitzpatrick and Christopher Kolarz, defenders Dominik Bittner, Sten Fischer, Emil Johansson, Will Riedell, and Jakob Weber, and forwards Andreas Eder, Nicolas Krämmer, Nick Maul, Ben Smith, and Filip Varejcka.
