They deserved to win in five games. It's always disappointing to end the season with a defeat. But we still have to accept it. And you have to acknowledge that our opponent was good. We had chances to extend the series, but Bremerhaven were better when outnumbered and outshot and played more compactly under pressure. We'll now go into the analysis. Maximilian Kastner (forward, Red Bull München): "We knew that Bremerhaven would be compact. But we still couldn't find a way against their defense. I think we had more of the games over the series. Efficiency makes the difference: Eight of Munich's 145 shots on goal landed in the Penguins' net (shooting percentage: 5.5 percent). Bremerhaven had 128 shots on goal for twelve goals (9.4 percent).
It remained the same: whoever scored the first goal in this semi-final series also won the game. In addition, the team that scored on the power play won every game in this semi-final series.
