Rob Leask becomes co-coach of the Red Bulls - Pierre Allard leaves the club// TEAMEHC Red Bull München has hired Rob Leask from the Straubing Tigers as its new assistant coach. The previous assistant coach Pierre Allard is leaving the four-time German champions at his own request.Oliver David, the new head coach of Red Bull München, is getting support for his coaching team. With Leask, the US American will have an experienced assistant coach at his side in the upcoming 2025/26 season. The 53-year-old has been assistant coach at the Straubing Tigers for the past ten years. The German-Canadian played a major role in the national and international successes of the Lower Bavarians in the DEL and the Champions League.
Leask is currently also supporting the coaching team of national coach Harold Kreis with the German national team in preparation for the World Championships in Denmark and Sweden.

Rob Leask: "I'm very happy about the opportunity and the trust that Oliver (David, Head Coach) and Christian (Winkler, Managing Director Sports Red Bull Ice Hockey) have placed in me. Red Bull Munich is a very ambitious club that always has its eye on the championship. I want to contribute my expertise and play my part in their success. I can't wait to get to know the team soon and start preparing for the new season."
Christian Winkler: "Rob was jointly responsible for the Tigers' sporting rise to become a top team in the DEL in recent years. He knows the league like the back of his hand thanks to his time as a player. We are delighted to have gained a great deal of expertise, specialist knowledge and humanity for our coaching team in him."
Even before his time as a coach, Leask was a formative figure in German ice hockey. As a player, the German-Canadian played a total of 915 games in the DEL, scoring a strong 317 points. The former defender played for the Eisbären Berlin, the Hamburg Freezers and the Nürnberg Ice Tigers during his playing days. Leask celebrated the German championship with the Berliners in 2005 and 2006. The 53-year-old played in two world championships for the German national team and was part of the 2006 Olympic squad in Turin.
Pierre Allard leaves the Red Bulls after four years
At the same time, EHC Red Bull München is saying goodbye to Pierre Allard. The native Canadian is leaving the four-time German champions at his own request after four seasons as assistant coach. The 52-year-old joined the Red Bulls from NHL club Montreal Canadiens for the 2021-22 season and won the German championship with the team in 2023.

"Pierre was an important part of our coaching team for four years," explains Winkler, adding: "In terms of loyalty and commitment, Pierre is hard to beat. We therefore wish him all the best for his future as a coach and as a person."
