Red Bulls secure star striker Gabriel Fontaine// TEAMGabriel Fontaine will wear the jersey of four-time German champions EHC Red Bull München in the coming season. The 28-year-old Canadian forward is moving from defending champions Eisbären Berlin to the Bavarian capital.Fontaine was drafted by the New York Rangers in the sixth round of the 2016 NHL Draft and subsequently played several years for the AHL team Hartford Wolf Pack. After stints with the Colorado Eagles and Finnish first division club Lukko Rauma, the versatile center joined Eisbären Berlin in the top German ice hockey league in the summer of 2024. He impressed in his first season with 22 goals and 27 assists in 56 games and became a key figure in the team's offense.

Gabriel Fontaine: ”I am proud to now be part of the Red Bulls family and am really looking forward to Munich. Everything I've heard about the organization and the city has reinforced my decision. My goal is to win the title again with the team. Because once you've won, you get a little addicted to that feeling. Munich has won the championship four times in the past, most recently in 2023, and I think the entire organization wants to get back on the winning track.”
Fontaine will wear the number 97
In Munich, the 1.85-meter-tall, 92-kilogram left-handed shooter will wear the number 97 and receive the eighth foreign player license. In the PENNY DEL, a maximum of nine foreign players may be listed on the game sheet per game, and a club may have up to eleven foreign players on its roster.
