Before the four participating teams took to the ice for the first time on Friday (August 22), the invitational tournament kicked off on Thursday (August 21) with a welcome event at Kaprun Castle. In a relaxed atmosphere, our Red Bulls met the participating teams from EC Red Bull Salzburg, Rögle BK, and EV Zug.

EV Zug won the opening game of the tournament on Friday, beating EC Red Bull Salzburg 4-3 to advance to the final. Later in the evening, it was time for EHC Red Bull München to get serious for the first time. In their game against Rögle BK, coach Oliver David's team was ultimately defeated 1-4 (1-1, 0-1, 0-2).
