DEB squad: Five Munich players head to the Ice Hockey World Championship// NATIONAL TEAMThe official Squad for the German national ice hockey team for the World Championship in Denmark and Sweden has been announced. After the last test match against the USA, it is clear that five Munich players will be traveling to Scandinavia.
Patrick Hager, Maximilian Kastner, Yasin Ehliz, Fabio Wagner, and Mathias Niederberger have been named to national team coach Harold Kreis' official roster. While Hager and Kastner have been part of the preliminary World Championship squad since the start of preparations, Ehliz, Niederberger, and Wagner joined in the third phase. In addition, our new assistant coach Rob Leask will travel to the World Championship as assistant to the national team coach.
Harold Kreis: “We are looking forward to the trip to Denmark and are taking a lot of insights from the World Championship preparations with us. We have a few more intensive training days ahead of us before the World Championship starts, which we will use to work on the tactical details.”
The World Championship in Sweden and Denmark begins on May 9. The German team will get underway one day later, on May 10. In their first game, the DEB selection will face newcomers Hungary.
