Das Derby bei den Straubing Tigers in Bildern
Match report
Munich set the tone early on, partly due to two penalties against the Tigers. Adam Brooks after a fine combination (4th minute) and Tobias Rieder (6th minute) had the first big chances of the derby, but Henrik Haukeland reacted brilliantly. Fontaine then made the most of the third power play: Munich's top scorer converted Brooks' pass at the far post (12th minute). However, the joy lasted only 34 seconds, as Elis Hede equalized with the hosts' first shot (12th minute). Straubing carried the momentum forward and created chances to take the lead, but there were no further goals before the first intermission.
In the second period, both teams initially neutralized each other, with chances remaining few and far between. It wasn't until the 24th minute that there was action in front of the Straubing goal: Haukeland made spectacular saves against Maximilian Kastner and Philipp Krening. Munich then increased the pressure, but the Tigers remained cool-headed. Tyler Madden put the home side ahead (30th minute), and just one minute later, Hede scored his second goal to make it 3-1 (31st minute). However, the Red Bulls did not let up – and were rewarded: Taro Hirose reduced the deficit to 2-3 shortly before the second intermission (40th minute).
The final period began with a bang: Skyler McKenzie made it 4-2 after just a few seconds (41st minute). Munich tried to respond, but the Tigers defended consistently and struck again shortly after Alex Green missed a great chance (46th minute) – Nick Halloran made it 5-2 (48th minute). In a heated final phase, Straubing remained on the offensive. Adrian Klein finally put the finishing touches on the 6-2 final score (56th minute).

Fabio Wagner: „Wir haben gut angefangen, dann aber nachgelassen. Das dritte Drittel war nicht gut genug, da haben wir es Straubing zu einfach gemacht. Daraus müssen wir lernen.“
