Together for a good cause: Wings for Life match day against BremerhavenSpecial jersey, hoodie & much more// CURRRENTThe home game against Bremerhaven on Sunday (February 5 | 4:30 p.m.) will also be marked by the Wings for Life Foundation. The Red Bulls will be wearing special jerseys to draw attention to the Wings for Life World Run on May 7.
This is how you can help
There are numerous ways to help during the home game against the Fischtown Penguins. For example, 1 euro per ticket and all proceeds from the matchday raffle will go directly to the charitable foundation. The special jerseys worn in the game will be auctioned off at the end of the season for the good cause. All stadium visitors will also have the opportunity to donate the deposit on their beverage cups.
Our partner Rauch will be selling pucks in the Olympic Ice Stadium's circulation area before the game and during the first intermission. All proceeds will go to Wings for Life - and one lucky winner will receive our new jersey.
"Kowalski" & Mitch
This year for the first time there will be a hoodie in the design of our special jersey. Designed by the artist "Kowalski", who will give an interview together with Ultrarunner Mitch during the second third break. On Friday Mitch will start a new adventure: The Ultrarunner will then make his way from Salzburg to Munich to deliver our special jersey on time until Sunday.
By the way: For every Wings for Life-style jersey and hoodie sold, the Red Bulls will donate another ten euros.
At the Catcher Car Race during the first third break, you can already get a feeling for how the Wings for Life World Run is run. The referee will be racing driver Sophia Flörsch, who, as a Wings for Life ambassador, will also take over the symbolic bully before the game.
This is Wings for Life
One wrong step. A moment of carelessness. Suddenly paraplegic. According to WHO estimates, between 250,000 and 500,000 people suffer a traumatic spinal cord injury every year. This means: no feeling in the legs, and in the worst case, no feeling in the arms and hands. Inability to move. One is constantly dependent on help. Wings for Life wants to help. The non-profit Wings for Life Foundation promotes cutting-edge research worldwide. The big goal: to cure paraplegia.
The Wings for Life World Run
At the Wings for Life World Run, more than a hundred thousand runners start at the same time worldwide. There is no finish line. Instead, 30 minutes after the start, the Catcher Car starts moving and overtakes the runners and wheelchair users one by one. All entry fees and donations go 100 percent to spinal cord research.
This year, the Wings for Life World Run will take place on May 7, 2023 (1:00 p.m.). At some locations there are so-called Flagship Runs. Means: You go together with many other people to the start. Among others, in Munich's Olympic Park, not far from our home. We count on you!
