Game play
Consistent in defense and straightforward in offense - the Red Bulls started confidently. The top team dictated the tempo in the first period, but Maximilian Franzreb in the Penguins' goal was not to be beaten at first. The visitors rarely appeared in front of Danny aus den Birken, but Christian Wejse had the first top chance of the game (7th). Munich unimpressed and a little later with the deserved lead: Street scored after preparation of Frederik Tiffels the 1:0 (8.) - at the same time the score after 20 minutes.
Munich initially set the tone in the middle period, Bremerhaven was stable in defense. The guests allowed little, became more and more courageous and turned the game around with goals from Alex Friesen (29th) and Niklas Andersen (30th) in just twelve seconds. Philip Samuelsson added the 3:1 in the 38th minute.
The final period started with offensive Red Bulls. The team of coach Don Jackson with numerous terminations and the 2:3 by Kastner (46.). After the connection, the Munich team increased the risk. Even when they were shorthanded, they tried to go forward, but Bremerhaven withstood the pressure and put the lid on it in the 59th minute with Samuelsson's empty-net goal.
