DEL Preview, Matchday 29: Red Bull München hosts the Schwenningen Wild Wings

Last home game before Christmas: Red Bulls want to extend their winning streak against the Wild Wings// DEL - PREVIEWRiding a nine-game home winning streak, EHC Red Bull Munich hosts the Schwenninger Wild Wings on Thursday evening. Their goal: to extend their series lead at SAP Garden into double digits. Puck drop is at 7:30 PM (live on our blog).
As always for midweek home games, you can take advantage of our After Work offer – the perfect way to end your workday with top-class ice hockey. It's also our last home game before Christmas, which is why we want to celebrate the "White Christmas" game day with you.
Come to the game in white!
In addition to numerous Christmas-themed activities surrounding the game, the game day is characterized above all by our motto: "All in white" is the motto against Schwenningen. We want to turn the stands white with your help and create a unique spectacle. Not only will our players be wearing white away jerseys, but fans are also encouraged to choose the appropriate attire. You can also purchase white shirts, as well as scarves and bucket hats with our logo, specially made for the game day, at discounted prices.
Please note that due to a concurrent event at the Olympic Park, there may be a significantly increased number of people at the Parkharfe arena. We therefore recommend arriving early, or ideally, using public transportation (MVV).
SAP Garden becomes a fortress
The Red Bulls are on a roll. Our team has won nine of its last ten DEL games, racking up 26 points – both league-leading figures. And this despite facing four teams from the current top six: Ingolstadt, Straubing, Cologne, and Berlin.
Highlights: EHC Red Bull München vs. Nürnberg Ice Tigers (14.12.2025)
// DEL - HIGHLIGHTS
Our boys recently dispatched the Nuremberg Ice Tigers in the Bavarian derby (3-1). The gap to the top of the table has been shrinking for weeks, and first place is now only five points away. We want to build on that success against Schwenningen.
Three new injuries – two youngsters move up
However, we will have to do without three more key players. Maximilian Kastner and Adam Brooks have suffered lower-body injuries. Phillip Sinn is out with an upper-body injury. In addition to this trio, coach Oliver David is also currently without forwards Tobias Rieder and Markus Eisenschmid, as well as national team goaltender Mathias Niederberger, due to injuries. On the other hand, two players from the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy are moving up to the professional roster. 18-year-old defenseman Moritz Warnecke and 20-year-old forward Vadim Schreiner are now part of the Red Bulls' lineup.
Dangerous Hirose
Taro Hirose is a particularly good matchup for the Wild Wings. Our top scorer (28 points) has been involved in five goals in the two games this season: he scored one himself and was an assister on four others. It's no coincidence that our playmaker boasts such strong numbers: with the Canadian on the ice, we generate significantly more shots than our opponents (533:291).
Schwenningen's Dry Slump
Scoring opportunities and Schwenningen – those two haven't been a good match lately. The Wild Wings have only managed 38 shots combined in the last two games. None of them found the back of the net: they suffered a 0-5 defeat against Mannheim and lost 0-2 in Berlin. Overall, SERC is winless in four games and has slipped to ninth place in the standings. But beware: the Wild Wings have put up a strong fight against us for years. The statistics also bear this out, as Schwenningen has won half of the last 16 encounters. What speaks in Munich's favor: the home team has won every last ten matches between Munich and Schwenningen. Hopefully, that will continue on Thursday.
Highlights: EHC Red Bull München vs. Schwenninger Wild Wings (October 26, 2025)
// DEL - HIGHLIGHTS
Defense as a Crownpiece
Our guys should avoid the penalty box, because with Tyson Spink, the Wild Wings have one of the league's best power-play goal scorers (five goals) on their roster. The forward has twelve goals overall. Zach Senyshyn follows in second place in the internal rankings (ten). Kyle Platzer is the top assist provider (14 assists). The crown jewel, however, is the defense, anchored by the tough, skilled defensemen Thomas Larkin and Eric Martinsson. Goaltender Joacim Eriksson (save percentage: 92.0 percent) is once again among the league's best goalies this season. The Red Bulls will have to get past him – or his teammate Michael Bitzer – to extend their home winning streak to ten games.
