Winkler ahead of schedule release: “Fans have something to look forward to!”Schedule to be announced on Monday – Dresden officially part of the DEL// NEWSOn Monday, PENNY DEL will publish the schedule for the 2025/26 season. Before all the dates are announced, Christian Winkler gave a preview of the season and the calendar and welcomed the Dresdner Eislöwen to the league.
In exactly two months, two weeks, and two days—in short, in 77 days—EHC Red Bull München will kick off its 16th DEL season. The new season will be kicked off by defending champions Eisbären Berlin and league newcomers Dresden. In addition to announcing the date for the opening game on Tuesday, September 9 (7:30 p.m.), the DEL officially announced that last season's second division champions have fulfilled all licensing requirements and are now officially part of Germany's top ice hockey league.
“It's a shame about Düsseldorfer EG, of course, but Dresden is an absolute asset to the league. This greatly strengthens ice hockey in eastern Germany. We are very much looking forward to the games against the Eislöwen and welcome them warmly,” said Winkler (Managing Director Sports Red Bull Ice Hockey), looking forward to at least four games against Dresden in the upcoming season.
Winkler announces early home derby for Monday's schedule
The complete schedule, including all of our Red Bulls' game dates, will be published next Monday. Winkler has already had a sneak peek and announced: “Fans can look forward to many exciting games, with highlights coming early in the season.” He added: “The first home derby is not long away. I believe that a couple of away trips will also be possible. As always, we look forward to seeing every single fan who comes to watch our games live at the stadium – whether at home in the beautiful SAP Garden or away.”

Following last season's quarter-final defeat against Adler Mannheim, the squad underwent significant restructuring with a view to the 2025/26 season. For Winkler, this was a logical consequence after learning the right lessons from the elimination. “The past season was one of the most educative seasons we've had in a long time. When things aren't going so well, you look at some things much more closely. In a season like that, you also notice who stands by you and who perhaps doesn't do so 100 percent. We've learned important lessons from this and are now ready for the coming season.”
After squad shake-up: Red Bulls' clear goal is the championship title
A total of eleven new players have been signed. In addition, ten of the eleven available foreign player licenses have already been allocated. "We wanted to improve the quality of the squad this summer and at the same time add more depth. The competition within the team will be greater than in recent years. In addition, we have signed some highly talented players who will put extra pressure on our established professionals. We have brought in hungry players, top performers and leaders from other top clubs,“ says Winkler, summarising the transfer activity so far and adding: ”I am convinced that we are in an excellent position."
With the adjusted squad and our new coach Oliver David, who has joined us in the Bavarian capital after winning two championships with EC Red Bull Salzburg, Winkler's goals for the coming season are clear: “Our goals are the same every year – we compete to win the championship. That goal will never change. We will start the new season highly motivated and want to win the title.”
