CheckerBande's Mario Kart Tournament at the Red Bull Gaming Garden
On Thursday afternoon at the SAP Garden, the battle for victory wasn’t fought on the ice, but on the virtual racetrack: At the CheckerBande’s Mario Kart tournament in the Red Bull Gaming Garden, young fans engaged in thrilling duels with three Red Bulls pros.
High-Speed Duels with Niederberger, Bittner, and Kaiser
Our goalies Mathias Niederberger and Matthias Bittner, along with defenseman Rio Kaiser, competed against the CheckerBande kids in several rounds. Four participants took to the track at the same time and battled with speed and skill for the top spots and the most points.

It wasn’t just the kids who were eager to compete; the three pros weren’t about to give up easily off the ice either. “It was a ton of fun. Of course, I had some incredibly strong competition,” said Niederberger about competing against the young fans. Kaiser also clearly enjoyed the tournament: “It was really cool; after some initial difficulties, I was able to improve significantly. Congratulations to the winners!”
At the end of the tournament, the winners received fan shirts, bedding, and towels. It was an all-around successful afternoon for both our pros and the Red Bulls CheckerBande, filled with lots of fun and unforgettable moments.
