“Home game” in Bad Tölz: Red Bulls aim to take the next step against Graz99ersHager: “We're expecting a very close game”// PREVIEWOn Friday (7:00 p.m.), the Red Bulls will play their fifth game of this preseason. In Bad Tölz, coach Oliver David's team will face the Moser Medical Graz99ers from the ICE Hockey League.For captain Patrick Hager, the game at the Hacker-Pschorr Arena is another yardstick in the current test phase: “We are getting better and better at the moment and of course want to build on our performance, especially from the Salzburg game.”
Looking back and looking ahead
At Red Bulls Salute last weekend, we celebrated our first victory of this preseason: a convincing 6-2 win over EC Red Bull Salzburg. Yasin Ehliz scored twice. For the German national striker and also for Konrad Abeltshauser, the game in their hometown of Bad Tölz will be a real home game.
Highlights: EC Red Bull Salzburg vs. EHC Red Bull München (23.08.2025)
// HIGHLIGHTS
Hager recalled the only direct duel with Graz to date. In preparation for last season, our boys narrowly won 2-1 at the Energie Steiermark Trophy. Tobias Rieder scored the decisive goal in the last minute. “It was a very close game back then,” said Hager. “And we expect the same this time.”
99ers with familiar faces
The 99ers have strengthened their team in the summer. Among the new signings are players with PENNY DEL experience: forward Josh Currie came from the Kölner Haie, Chris Collins from the Augsburger Panther.
In goal, the Styrians will be relying on Maxime Lagacé, who already has NHL experience and most recently played for Färjestad BK. Former German national defender Korbinian Holzer and Nick Bailen (previously Cologne) have been playing for Graz since last season. Another key player is Austrian national forward Lukas Haudum, who was the 99ers' top domestic scorer last season.

Our first match at the Energie Steiermark Trophy against Graz in pictures
Last season, Graz finished the regular season in fifth place before losing to Linz in the playoff quarterfinals. Coach Harry Lange and his team now want to take it one step further.
Respect for the opponent, focus on their own development
“Graz has upgraded considerably over the past year and signed some good players again this summer,” Hager analyzes. “They will try to be compact defensively. For us, it's about continuing to implement our principles consistently.”
The Red Bulls are traveling to Bad Tölz with the clear goal of taking the next step in their development. “Overall, we can be satisfied with how things have gone so far,” emphasizes Hager. “Now we have to make sure that we bring what we have set out to do as a team back onto the ice on Friday.”
