Wings for Life World Run 2026: Records, excitement, and our fans in the middle
Since 2013, EHC Red Bull München has supported the Wings for Life Foundation, which is dedicated to finding a cure for spinal cord injury.
Among the numerous locations worldwide, Munich’s Olympic Park once again served as a starting point for one of the flagship runs. Around 14,000 participants took to the course there, which this year also passed by the SAP Garden.
At our home venue, EHC Red Bull München was represented with its own booth. There, as in previous years, the Drum Crew München, together with mascot Mike, provided extra motivation along the route.
Global Participation Record & Triumphant Couple in Munich
Globally, the 2026 Wings for Life World Run also set new standards: A total of 346,527 registered participants worldwide ran for a good cause. This raised 9.2 million euros for the Wings for Life Foundation. 100 percent of all entry fees and donations go toward spinal cord research.

New Record by Jo Fukuda
Jo Fukuda once again provided the global highlight. The Japanese runner covered an impressive 78.95 kilometers in Fukuoka, surpassing his own record by over eight kilometers. In the women’s category, Mikky Keetels from the Netherlands won with 62.24 kilometers, also setting a new record.
