Highlights: Red Bull München vs. ERC Ingolstadt (22.01.2023)
// DEL - HIGHLIGHTS
Red Bulls the top team in February
The Red Bulls continue to be the measure of all things in Germany's top ice hockey division in February. Coach Don Jackson's team has won five of its six games and has totaled 139 shots on goal in its latest three victories. No other team in the league can even come close to matching that statistic. Strong!
What looks easy is often "a hard slog." That's how Yasin Ehliz classified the 6:3 win in Nuremberg last Sunday. Our top scorer was the man of the match with a triple pack. The 30-year-old has also scored against Ingolstadt this season. On Tuesday, he wants to add to his tally and help bring home the eighth win in a row against the ERC. Since the quarter-final knockout in April 2021, EHC Red Bull Munich has won all duels against Ingolstadt.
ERC Ingolstadt: Planned success
MagentaSport recently described ERC Ingolstadt in a report as "best-of-the-rest behind leader Munich." For Tim Regan, the Panthers' sports director since this season, the success is no surprise: "We set the course in the summer with a good strategic plan."

That plan is closely tied to Coach Mark French, who fully lives up to his reputation as a developer. "A super coach. He studies the opponents and prepares us well. We play the system the way he wants it. That works," said Jerome Flaake, for example. The former Munich native is one of numerous ERC players who have long since surpassed their point output from last season.
Newcomer Ronning stings
ERC Ingolstadt lost half of its six matches in February, but always scored. Last Sunday in the 4:5 after overtime in Augsburg, Ty Ronning was again among the scorers. The 25-year-old transferred from the Iowa Wild (AHL) to Ingolstadt at the end of January. His work record: nine scoring points (five goals) in seven games.
The Red Bulls know the great quality of the Panthers, but also want to win the fourth derby this season. In the interview after the game, it may sound like after our 3:2 victory in mid-January. Back then, striker Maximilian Kastner said: "It was a good game between both teams. We scored the goals at the right time and can be proud of our performance."
