Oliver David becomes coach at Red Bull München// TEAM46-year-old US American Oliver David is the new coach of four-time German ice hockey champion EHC Red Bull München. David was most recently head coach of EC Red Bull Salzburg, with whom he won the ICE Hockey League championship in 2024 and 2025.This is the third coaching position in Europe for the Los Angeles-born Californian. Before joining Austria, he was part of the coaching team at Swiss first division club EHC Biel-Bienne. The architect of the Salzburg championship team will take over as head coach in Munich on May 1.

The new Munich coach grew up in California, a region with a long tradition of ice hockey, three NHL clubs, and almost a dozen professional teams. David has worked his way up through the ranks in a classic coaching career. He began coaching 16 years ago in the US junior league NAHL (North American Hockey League). In 2013, he moved to the United States Hockey League (USHL), where he was voted USHL Head Coach of the Year in 2020. A year later, he crossed the Atlantic to Switzerland before taking over as head coach of twelve-time Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg in 2023. Now his path has taken him to Germany, where he will be responsible for the sporting fortunes of the Bavarian DEL club.
