EHC Red Bull München: Looking back on 2025
An end to the season like something out of a thriller: After a heated and spectacular 60 minutes, the derby against the Augsburg Panthers yesterday (Tuesday) went into overtime tied 2-2. Exactly 30 seconds before the end of the overtime period, Ryan Murphy made the SAP Garden shake after a neatly executed counter-attack - to the match report.

The two points against our favorite neighbors may have ceded first place in the form table to runner-up Cologne, but with nine wins from the last ten games, the turn of the year can be more than well contested. After a mixed start to the season, we have clearly consolidated our position at the top of the PENNY DEL and can be proud and satisfied with the boys of coach Oliver David.
Record hunters Kastner and Ehliz
If we roll up the entire calendar year again, we find more highlights than our current form. Maxi Kastner, for example, has been EHC Red Bull Munich's sole record player since January 12. In his 515th DEL appearance against the Schwenninger Wild Wings, the 32-year-old overtook our former defenseman Daryl Boyle to enter the history books. Kasti currently has 565 games in our jersey.

The next record-breaking player from last year is Yasin Ehliz. Admittedly: The 33-year-old, who just celebrated his birthday yesterday, became the top scorer in our club history at the end of last year (313 points). This year, however, the attacker - who has now scored 137 goals for the Red Bulls - also took the eternal goal-scoring crown from Trevor Parkes.
Incidentally, Ehliz secured this record at our "Wings for Life" match day on February 16. Since 2013, we - and all of you - have raised more than 120,000 euros to find a cure for paraplegia through all of our activities for the charitable organization. An annual highlight that we would not want to miss.

Great support in the playoffs - major upheaval in the summer
In sporting terms, the calendar year continued with our playoffs against Adler Mannheim at the end of March. Yes, we ultimately didn't come out on top in the quarter-finals. But your support after this changeable first season in the SAP Garden at this time also deserves to be appreciated. At the end of the 2024/25 season, we had 20 sold-out home games, thrilling playoff matches and a palpable sense of optimism on the ice and in the stands.
The summer was initially all about squad planning. 13 new players - Vadim Schreiner and Moritz Warnecke arrived later - joined the EHC Red Bull Munich squad. Not forgetting our new coach Oliver David and his assistant coach Rob Leask.
So lief das Red Bulls Salute 2025
// HIGHLIGHTS
A team with a new car smell traveled to the Red Bulls Salute, where we were also able to compete against the absolute top teams in European ice hockey in August 2025. In addition to co-hosts EC Red Bull Salzburg, this year's participants included Swedish 2022 Champions League winners Rögle BK and three-time Swiss champions EV Zug. We took third place and showed that we have great potential in the semi-final against Rögle BK despite losing.
Hager joins the 1000 club
In the current season, we were then able to honor one of the greats of our sport: Patrick Hager became only the 13th player in DEL history to join the Club of 1000. "You can't do that with talent alone. It takes character, discipline and an inner flame that still drives you every day. Congratulations on 1000 games and thank you. Thank you for what you have done for us in every single one of them," were the fitting words of Christian Winkler (Managing Director Sports Red Bull Ice Hockey) at the award ceremony.
1,000 DEL games: Congratulations, Patrick Hager!
// JUBILÄUM
This "inner flame" of our captain has recently turned into a blazing beacon. Hager has contributed ten goals and ten assists this season, already surpassing his figures from the entire previous main season (17 scoring points). The 37-year-old remains the absolute leader and continues to be a reliable provider of points in our team's offense.
Good intentions for 2026
And here we are: With the captain in top form, the whole team has recently gone on the run described at the beginning. Ten home wins in a row included. We weren't able to break our record of eleven home wins in a row from the 2017/18 season, but what would a new year be without good resolutions for the new year?
Happy New Year, here's to a healthy and successful 2026!
