EHC Red Bull München: Reactions and Stats from Game 2 of the Semifinals
Statements
Oliver David (Coach, EHC Red Bull München): “We played very well today for nearly 60 minutes—except for a few minutes in the third period and in overtime. We created a total of nine expected goals across both games, but only scored four. We’re facing a puzzle that we need to solve so the season doesn’t end sooner than we want it to.”
Ryan Murphy (Defenseman, EHC Red Bull München): “A nasty rebound decided this game, but this series is absolutely even. Mannheim’s goalie is very good; maybe we’ll get a rebound like that someday, too. Now we have to keep our heads up. We have a lot of guys who’ve been through and overcome situations like this before. We can come back.”
Yasin Ehliz (Forward, EHC Red Bull München): “We played outstandingly, created a lot of chances, but didn’t capitalize on enough of them. Mannheim had its chances, though. It’s a high-level semifinal matchup. On Saturday, we’ll practice, review the video, and then head to Mannheim. If we keep playing like this, a puck will eventually find the back of the net for us.”

// DEL - INTERVIEW
Dallas Eakins (Head Coach, Adler Mannheim): “As we mentioned before the series, both teams are very similar in many ways, so we’re already preparing for a third overtime on Sunday. Luck was on our side again; the game could have gone either way.”
Justin Schütz (Forward, Adler Mannheim): “It was similar to Game 1, a evenly matched game. We also had the necessary luck in overtime. The 2-0 lead feels good, of course, but that doesn’t hide the fact that it’s still going to be a tough series.”
Alexander Ehl (forward, Adler Mannheim): “We believed in the win throughout the entire game again today. We know we can come back from deficits. We were pretty solid defensively, and Maxi (goaltender Maximilian Franzreb) kept us in the game with some strong saves. On Sunday, we want to play our game from the very start.”
