EHC Red Bull München: Reactions and Stats from the Quarterfinal Series
Statements
Oliver David (Coach, EHC Red Bull München): “We stuck to our game plan and turned our chances into some great goals. The fact that we’re in the semifinals is the result of a solid team effort. Everyone did their part. We often had to play with different line combinations—only the Rieder line was able to play with the same lineup throughout. Now we need to prepare the guys as best we can for the semifinals.”

Tobias Rieder (forward, EHC Red Bull München): “I try to play as naturally as possible. In this series, the pucks just fell right in front of my stick; I had that little bit of luck—and then the goals come really fast. Every series is different: sometimes it’s tougher, sometimes not so much, but there’s always a lot at stake. This time it was also a derby. Emotions were running high. We’re glad we advanced.”
You can see what Red Bull Ice Hockey Managing Director Christian Winkler has to say about the recent quarterfinal against Ingolstadt and how he views the games against Adler Mannheim in the playoff semifinals tonight at 9:45 p.m. on Blickpunkt Sport on Bayerischer Rundfunk. Winkler will be a studio guest on the show.

Mark French (Coach, ERC Ingolstadt): “We’ve talked a lot about momentum over the past few days. That played a role again today. After falling behind early, we came back strong. The tying goal came on the first line change of the second period, though we responded well again. In the end, we can be proud of the team’s performance and what they’ve achieved this season. Munich simply capitalized on our mistakes very efficiently.”
Daniel Pietta (Forward, ERC Ingolstadt): “We gave up too many goals. That made it difficult. Munich played very well and, above all, had very strong third periods. When they were in the lead, they defended well and controlled the puck effectively.”
